The Praetorian Marine Life vest is manufactured by Viking Life Saving Equipment who has over 40 years experience in
the manufacturing of marine safety equipment. Praetorian can offer standard or custom-made soft body armour lifejackets
according to customer specifications.
Users: Coast guards, Customs and other waterborne operating
task forces.
The armour provides both ballistic and stab protection in both dry and wet conditions.
Praetorian Overt Life Vest - Flotation. Protection level HG2, KR2, SP2.
Flotation vest offering protection levels of Handgun level 2 and Knife resistance level 2, with the option of even higher protection with the inclusion of plates.
Praetorian Overt Life Vest - Inflatable. Protection level HG2, KR2, SP2.
An inflatable life vest offering level 2 Handgun resistance and level 2 Knife resistance and even higher protection with the inclusion of optional plates.
The Praetorian Overt vests are specified to Police and personal use standards and have been tested and certified by The Police Scientific Development Branch (PSDB).
The armour has been successfully tested against the following:
- Resistance to perforation by bullets fired from Hand Guns, Carbines.
- Resistance to perforation by bullets fired from Shotguns without appropriate plates - this is unique to our vests.
- Resistance to Automatic/Burst fire from 9mm Sub-Machine guns - a unique property of our vests.
- Minimises Blunt Trauma, behind the Body Armour
- Resistance to perforation by knives, spikes and needles in stabbing attacks.
- Resistance to perforation by glass fragments
- Very high attenuation of blunt impact energy. (Kicks, punches, bricks, etc.)
- The armour is 100% intrinsically waterproof.
- Resistant to chemical and biological attack.
- Resistant to physical damage.
- Very high tensile strength (greater than that of steel).
- Opaque to radar energy (microwave).
- High-resonance over a very wide range of frequencies. (Exceeding human audio range).
- Low flammability.
- Zero toxicity.
