
Praetorian ballistic plate test
There are two tests shown here. The first is using an AK47 and various ‘trouble rounds’ from around the world. The second is automatic fire using 7.62 x 39mm Czech rounds.
Armour Insert Plate Purpose: To defeat multiple strikes of common terrorist-choice ammunition. The plate has successfully defeated the following ammunition:
- 7.62 x 39 Ball. Russian, Czech and Chinese.
- 7.62 x 39 Mild Steel Core. Russian, Czech and Chinese.
- 7.62 x 39 AP. Russian, Czech and Chinese.
- 7.62 x 39 API. Russian, Czech and Chinese.
- 7.62 x 25 Tokarev Lead Core. TT-33 pistol and PPSh SMG. Russian.
- 7.62 x 25 Tokarev Hard Core. TT-33 pistol and PPSh SMG. Russian.
- 5.56 x 45 SS109 Penetrator. Belgian and USA M855.

You can see the two ‘strike on strike’hits on the back of the plate. There was some damage to the covering of the soft armour , but no layer was compromised

A Third ‘strike on strike’ on the back of the plate. The third towards the bottom centre did breach the plate but only went through 1 layer of soft armour

East German Armour Piercing 7.62. This round clipped the edge of the plate and then went into the soft armour. The round was later recovered in the soft armour. Note the blunt trauma on the back plate just below the strike on the soft armour
